HCPS progresses swiftly and has a significant fatality rate of 35-40%.SNV is carried by deer mice, and the primary means of human infection is through accidental exposure to the virus found in contaminated animal excreta and/or secreta.  Pathogen emergence has been linked to climate, season, vegetation growth, and increased precipitation.  Although vaccines have been formulated and tested, there are currently no treatments or approved vaccines for HCPS. There are 2 kits available for the detection of SNV: Ready to use format, including Master Mix for the target and PCR control to monitor for PCR inhibition and validate the quality Specific Primer and Probe mix for the pathogen/virus/viroid of interest Primer and Probe mix Positive and negative control to confirm the integrity of the kit reagents Specific Primer/Probe mix and Positive Control for the pathogen/virus/viroid of interest Nuclease-free water Can be used together with Norgen’s PCR/RT-PCR Master Mix (#28007/#28113)or customer supplied master mix Ready to use format, including Master Mix for the target and PCR control to monitor for PCR inhibition and validate the quality Specific Primer mix for the pathogen/virus/viroid of interest Positive control and a negative control to confirm the integrity of the kit reagents Loading dye and a DNA ladder to facilitate qualitative analysis of the results on an agarose gel Specific Primer mix and Positive Control for the pathogen/virus/viroid of interest Nuclease-free water Can be used together with Norgen’s PCR/RT-PCR Master Mix (#28007/#28113)or customer supplied master mix Storage Conditions and Product StabilityAll kit components should be stored at -20°C upon arrival. Repeated thawing and freezing ( 2 x) of the Master Mix, Control Master Mix and Positive Control should be avoided, as this may affect the performance of the assay. If the reagents are to be used only intermittently, they should be frozen in aliquots. All reagents can be stored for 1 year at -20°C without showing any reduction in performance.
