Class I cabinets provide personnel and environmental protection but no product protection due un-purified room air constantly entering the work space.
A stream of external flowing air moving into the cabinet space contains aerosols created during sample testing. The air flow continues as it passes through the built in HEPA filtration system that traps all airborne particles and contaminants. Unlike conventional fume hood, the internal HEPA filter in the Class I protects the environment by filtering air before it is exhausted. In the final step, clean, decontaminated air is exhausted from the cabinet
