Quinn, Harris, and Benzer were the first to report that adult flies are capable of associative learning. Later, Tully and Quinn introduced a substantially improved assay, which is now considered one of the methods of choice for the study of Pavlovian learning and memory in Drosophila (T-maze teaching machine).
