ION Biosciences Brilliant Calcium Assay is a total assay solution for multi-well plate-based, high-throughput measurements of dynamic changes in intracellular Ca2+. The ION Biosciences Brilliant Calcium Assay is useful for a wide range of effectors of intracellular calcium including many G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), divalent cation channels, and other proteins capable of transporting Ca2+ or affecting intracellular Ca2+ dynamics. In multi-well, plate-based formats, the Brilliant Calcium Assay can be used to discover and characterize the effects of tens to many tens-of-thousands of compounds and environmental factors which can act to affect intracellular Ca2+ levels.

About ION’s BRILLIANT CALCIUM MAVERICK , FLEX and EXPRESS Assay Kit: ION Biosciences’ Brilliant Calcium Assay series is a total assay solution for multi-well plate-based, highthroughput measurements of dynamic changes in intracellular Ca2+. Ranging from the Maverick kit - you supply your own buffers, to the Flex kit – an assay kit Swiss Army Knife, to the Express kit - a premixed solution to rapidly facilitate your large-scale, high-throughput screening. Each assay kit is designed to be simple, fast, and reliable fluorescence-based assay. For years investigators have had only a choice between Molecular Devices’ FLIPR® Calcium 5 (Cal5) and Calcium 6 (Cal6) Kits and calcium assays such as “Calcium Green” from Thermo Fisher as well (Thermo F14200 ad Thermo f36206). Whether your platform is FLIPR® or FlexStation®, FDSS, or Panoptic ION’s assay kits will provide a smooth process for your FLIPR® assay development and GPCR assays. There are no intermediate washsteps required with these kits and you will find all the reagents necessary for preparation of the Brilliant Calcium Assay for use as a no wash assay or washed for adherent and non- adherent cells. Experienced screeners typically have a FLIPR® protocol they are familiar and comfortable with and ION’s high throughput calcium assay kits are optimized and streamlined to work seamlessly on Hamamatsu FDSS, FLIPR® Tetra Cellular Screening Systems used today.
