Zirconium Oxide Microspheres
The specific weight >5.9 g/cm³ is the source of enormous grinding energy in the mill, resulting in reduced grinding times. The processing times are considerably lower than with standard grinding media. This material has an extremely low wear rate and reduces production costs. Type ZrOY beads are made of high purity Zirconia powder and is fully Yttrium stabilized to ensure extreme resistance to wear. They can be used in most high energy mills on the market today. A rotator turning speed >17 m/s is quite common. Equipment and operating conditions for the mill should be clarified with the mill manufacturer. Chemical composition ZrO2-95.0%, Y2O3-5.0%.
