The company was originally housed in a small building on East Warren Avenue on Detroit's East Side owned by one of the partners. The location of the building was very close to the Grosse Pointe area and thus the name Pointe. In 1984, the partners purchased a building on Warren Avenue in Detroit, not far from the original location. The larger building allowed Pointe to expand production space and lab space and hire more employees.
