Background
The Pseudomonas aeruginosa Serotyping Kit is composed of murine monoclonal antibodies specific for 17 O-antigenic serotypes of P. Aeruginosa as defined by the International Antigenic Typing Scheme (IATS). The mice used in the generation of the 17 monoclonal antibodies were immunized with formalin-fixed P. aeruginosa cells from 17 IATS strains. Compared to polyclonal sera, the use of monoclonal antibodies decreases the number of polytypable and nonotypable strains, in addition to avoiding the usual batch to batch variability. The monoclonal antibodies to P. aeruginosa strains are recommended for use in the bacterial slide agglutination technique for the serotyping of P. Aeruginosa cultures. Reagents monoclonal antibodies to P. Aeruginosa strains are derived from hybridomas cell culture supernatant. All antibodies are supplied lyophilized.
