Recognizes the B4 light-chain allotype of rabbit IgG and cross-reacts with B5, B6 and B9 allotypes. Also recognizes HRP types I, II, VI, IX and X
Specificity
(A) all 4 kappa light-chain allotypes of rabbit IgG. It does not considerably cross-reacts with B5, B6 and B9 allotypes. It does not cross-react with the heavy chains of rabbit IgG or with bovine, human, mouse or rat whole IgG. (B) Does not recognize HRP
Storage Buffer
Tissue culture supernatant containing IgG fraction containing 600 purpurogallin units (or HRP/ml), sucrose, bovine serum albumin and thimerosal.

Background
This antibody is a bispecific monoclonal antibody capable of simultaneously recognize the horseradish peroxidase (HRP) and rabbit IgG. This antibody has demonstrated its usefulness as a "universal developer" in a wide variety of immunobased techniques. Bi-specific monoclonal antibodies have been successfully used in one step immunocytochemistry and immuno-dot assays. These results demonstrated that bispecific antibodies can be applied in quick and simple staining procedures and provide intense immunostaining. The McC8 antibody has been used in two-step Immunohistochemistry for the localization of calcitonin gene-related peptide (using rabbit polyclonal antibodies) in fibers of the superficial layers of the spinal trigeminal nucleus of the rat as well as for the localization of glial fibrillary acidic protein immunoreactive sites in primary rat septal cell culture.
