| Description: | GM1CD40 reacts with CD40 ( Bp50 ),� a� member of the TNF receptor family� with 48 kDa MW.� which� is expressed� on B lymphocytes including pro-B through to plasma cells but not on monocytes nor granulocytes. CD40 also expressed on dendritic cells and CD34+ hemopoietic cell progenitor. CD40 molecule involved in regulation of B-cell growth, differentiation and Isotype-switching of Ig and up-regulates adhesion molecules on dendritic cells as well as promotes cytokine production in macrophages and dendritic cells. CD40 antibodies has been reported to co-stimulate B-cell proleferation with anti-m or phorbol esters. It may be an important target for control of graft rejection, T cells and antibody-mediated� autoimmune diseases. | |
