 ItisupregulatedbyIL1,TNF,PDGF,IFNbeta,TNFalpha,NGF,IL17anddownregulatedbyglucocorticoidsIL4,TGFbeta.IL6appearstobedirectlyinvolvedintheresponsesthatoccurafterinfectionandcellularinjury,anditmayprovetobeasimportantasIL1andTNFalphainregulatingtheacutephaseresponse.IL6hasalsobeenimplicatedinregulatingADIposemass.
