Specificityα(1-6)linkedcorefucosewhencovalentlyattachedtoareportermoleculeatthereducingterminalGlcNAc.Theoneexceptionisthataterminalunbranchedα(1-3))orα(1-4)fucoseiscleavedintheabsenceofanyreportermolecule.Reportermoleculesknowntosupportcleavageareamino-napthalenedisulfonicandtri-sulfonicacidsand2-aminobenzoicacid(2AA).However,2-aminobenzamide(2-AB)
willnotsupportcleavage.Shorteroligosaccharidessuchastrimannosylchitobiosearemorecompletelydigestedthanlongerderivativeswhichmayrequirelongerincubationtimes.
