NeoBio该MAb与CD56 / NCAM的细胞外结构域（接近跨膜）反应。神经细胞粘附分子（NCAM）的三种同工型是通过单个基因的RNA转录物的差异剪接产生的。135kDa亚型是基本分子，被糖基化或唾液酸化以生成成熟物种。抗CD56识别神经细胞粘附分子的两种蛋白质，即在大多数神经外胚层衍生的组织和肿瘤（例如视网膜母细胞瘤，髓母细胞瘤，星形细胞瘤，神经母细胞瘤和小细胞癌）中表达的基本分子。它也在某些中胚层衍生的肿瘤（横纹肌肉瘤）中表达。抗CD56在淋巴结和鼻NK / T细胞淋巴瘤的诊断中起重要作用。
