A375CellLine:

Prolongedexposuretoultraviolet(UV)rADIationdramaticallyincreasestheriskofmelanoma,whichisamongthetop10mostprevalentformsofcancerintheUS,andthetop20intheworld.Therewillbeapproximately87,000newcasesofmelanoma,intheUnitedStatesin2017alone,accordingtotheSkinCancerFoundation.TheA-375celllineisausefulmelanomamodelemployedinpreclinicalresearchtodevelopnewmedicines.A-375cellswereestablishedbasedonskincellstakenfroma54-year-oldfemalepatientwhosufferedfrommalignantmelanoma(skincancer).ThesetumOrigeniccellsexhibitanepithelialcellmorphologyandareusefulasastabletransfectionhost.A375canbehelpfulformolecularandcellBIOLOGyresearch,mainlyrelatedtoskincancer.
