NanoWorldPointprobe®CONTSCRAFMprobeisanalternativecantilevertypeforcontactmodeapplications.Thelengthofcantileverisreducedwithrespecttothepreferredcontactmodetypeenablingeasierexchangewithnon-contactmodeprobesforsomeAFMinstruments.Additionally,thisprobetypeallowstheapplicationforlateralorfrictionforcemode.

AllSPMprobesofthePointprobe®seriesaremadefrommonolithicsiliconwhichishighlydopedtodissipatestaticcharge.TheyarechemicallyinertandofferahighmechanicalQ-factorforhighsensitivity.Thetipisshapedlikeapolygonbasedpyramid.

Additionally,thisprobeoffersanexcellenttiprADIusofcurvature.

AluminumReflexCoating

Thealuminumreflexcoatingconsistsofa30nmthickaluminumlayerdepositedonthedetectorsideofthecantileverwhichenhancesthereflectanceofthelaserbeambyafactorof2.5.FurThermoreitpreventslightfrominterferingwithinthecantilever.

Asthecoatingisalmoststress-freethebendingofthecantileverduetostressislessthan2degrees.
