Each vial whenreconstituted to 500 μl with sterile distilled water, contains 50.0 μg ofpertussis toxin in 10 mM sodium phosphate buffer with 50 mM sodium chloride atpH 7.0. The toxin is insoluble and the resulting suspension should be madeuniform by gentle mixing, not vortexing, prior to withdrawing aliquots. Do notsterile filter. For use with purified G proteins, the toxin must bestructurally converted to artificially create a form of the toxin thatinteracts directly with G proteins. See Kaslow et al.
