Description | AKT1 is a ubiquitously expressed protein kinase. AKT1 plays a key role as modulator of the AKT-mTOR signaling pathway controlling the tempo of the process of newborn neurons integration during adult neurogenesis, including correct neuron positioning, dendritic development and synapse formation (Ref: SWISSPROT). |
Batch No. | See product label |
Unit size | 100 µg |
Antigen | A synthetic peptide (NTFIIRCLQWTTVIERTFHVE) corresponding to a region (71-91 aa) from human RAC-alpha serine/threonine-protein kinase (AKT1). |
Sequence | NTFIIRCLQWTTVIERTFHVE |
Antibody Type | Antiserum |
Other Names | Protein kinase B; PKB; Proto-oncogene c-Akt; RAC-PK-alpha; AKT1; PKB; RAC; |
Accession | P31749 AKT1_HUMAN; |
Produced in | Rabbit |
Applications | Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Western Blotting (WB). A concentration of 1.0 µg/ml is recommended for WB. Human AKT1 has a predicted length of 480 residues and MW of 56 kDa. A concentration of 2.0 µg/ml is recommended for IHC to detect the protein in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded tissues. Heat mediated antigen retrieval is required. Biosensis recommends optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user. |
Specificity | The specificity of this antibody has been confirmed by WB and IHC against the antigen. |
Antibody Against | RAC-alpha serine/threonine-protein kinase |
Cross-reactivity | Human (WB, IHC-P); rat (WB); predicted to react with mouse due to sequence homology; |
Blast it | If you wish to use this product in a species other than those specified here and want to determine the amino acid sequence homology between the immunogen and the corresponding protein in that species, simply copy the amino acid sequence for this immunogen and test it on the BLAST database that you can access through the link below. Please note that antibodies raised against synthetic peptides are quite often very specific for that peptide. What this means in practise is that a single amino acid difference may be enough to restrict the specificity to a particular molecule. The BLAST database can also be used to compare any amino acid sequence between species and between proteins. The full amino acid sequence of the target protein can be found by following the link in the Accession field. You can then search any amino acid sequence in the target protein using the BLAST database. When selecting a sequence to search, please choose carefully, as the sequence you choose may be a precursor rather than the mature protein for example. |
