Anti-hIL-17a-IgG is a neutralizing monoclonal antibody specific for hIL-17a.

Interleukin 17a (IL-17a) is a pro-inflammatory cytokine. Interleukin 17A (IL-17A), a pro-inflammatory cytokine, that belongs to a family of six cytokines; IL-17A, IL-17B, IL-17C, IL-17D, IL-E (also known as IL-25) and IL-17F [1]. IL-17A binds a heterodimeric receptor (IL-17RA/IL-17RC), which recruits the adaptor Act1 leading to TRAF6 ubiquitylation, triggering a signaling cascade that results in NF-kB activation, a key regulator of innate immunity [2]. Although this cytokine exerts a protective role against many pathogens, the overproduction of IL-17A is associated with autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and inflammatory bowel disease; making this cytokine a pertinent target for monoclonal antibodies [3].

Anti-hIL-17a-IgG has been selected for its ability to efficiently neutralize the biological activity of hIL-17a.

This antibody is produced in hybridomas and purified by affinity chromatography.
