Scientific Background Beclin 2 is a novel coiled-coil protein related to the autophagic Beclin 1 protein. It is thought to interact with Bcl-2, an anti-apoptotic protein, and is believed to function in autophagy. It has alson been found to mediate G protein-coupled receptro (GPCR) degradation (1).
