TheA20antibodyreactswithmouseCD45.1,alsoknownasLy5.1,whichisastrain-specificallelicformoftheCD45LeukocyteCommonAntigen(LCA).Functionally,CD45isaproteintyrosinephosphatasewhosebroadcelldistributionsupportsacriticalroleinmanyleukocytefunctions,includingregulationofsignaltransductionandcellactivationassociatedwiththeTcellandBcellreceptors.
TheA20antibodyistypicallyusedasaleukocyteMarkerinLy5.1mousestrains:SJL/J,DA,STS/AandRIII.TheantibodyhasbeendemonstratedtospecificforCD45.1andisnotcross-reactivewithCD45.2bearingcells.
