Description

Hypaconitine is a diterpene alkaloid originally found in Aconitum that acts as a neuromuscular junction blocker. Hypaconitine inhibits end plate potentials in isolated phrenic nerve-diaphragm muscles. Hypaconitine induces long-term opening of Na+ channels, causing membrane depolarization and preventing repolarization.
