LAQ824(alsoknownasNVP-LAQ824orDacinostat),aderivativeof4-aminomethylcinnamichydroxamicacid,isanovelandpotentinhibitorofhistonedeacetylase(HDAC)thatinhibitstheactivityofHDACwithIC50valueof0.03µM.

LAQ824(NVP-LAQ824)isanovelHDACinhibitorwithIC50of32nM.LAQ824activatesthep21promoterwith50%ofthemaximalpromoteractivation(AC50)of0.30µM,whichinturn,activatesthep21inhibitorgene.LAQ824hasbeenfoundtoinhibitthegrowthofavarietyofcancercelllines,includingH1299,anon-smallcelllungcarcinomaline,andHCT116,acoloncancercelllinewithIC50of0.15µMand0.01µM,respectively.LAQ824alsodose-andtime-dependentlyinhibitsthecellgrowthofbreastcancerMDA435cells,prostatecancerDU145andPC3cellsandnon-smallcelllungcancerA549cells,withIC50value<1µMandinduceapoptosisinhumanbreastcancerSKBR-3,BT-474andMB-468cells.
