Cryopreserved human cord blood CD34^– MNCs, are mononuclear cells that have been depleted of CD34⁺ cells cells via an immunomagnetic cell separation technique that targets the CD34 antigen with an anti-CD34 antibody immunomagnetic complex. 

Purity

There are only a minimum number of residual CD34⁺ cells remaining in this product. 

Sample Collection and Processing

Umbilical cord blood (CB) is collected in a 250 mL collection bag containing citrate-phosphate-dextrose (CPD) anticoagulant (25 mL/bag). CB is processed by density centrifugation and CD34⁺ cells are depleted from the unit.Maternal donors have been screened to be negative for HIV and HBs Ag (see Certificate of Analysis).Cord blood is processed within 24-30 hours of collection. 

Stability and Storage

Mononuclear cells are cryopreserved in CryoStor® CS5, a serum-free freezing medium.Cells are stable for long-term storage at -152^oC or in the gaseous phase of liquid nitrogen.Storage at -80^oC is not recommended.  Once thawed, the cells must be used immediately and have a finite life span in culture.
