Theandrogenreceptor(AR)isaDNA-bindingtranscriptionfactorthatregulatesgenescriticalforthedevelopmentandmaintenanceofthemalesexualphenotype.Defectsinandrogenreceptorhavebeenshowntoplayaroleinprostatecancer,andinhibitionofARactivitythroughmodulationofsignaltransductionpathwaysmaydelayprostatecancerprogression.Multiplephosphorylationsiteshavebeenidentifiedontheandrogenreceptorthataffectcross-talkbetweengrowthfactorsignalingandandrogeninprostatedevelopmentandcancer.Oneofthesesites,atSer94,appearsconstitutivelyphosphorylatedandexhibitsnoresponsetotreatmentswithstimulatinghormone.ThesiteatSer94isuniqueamongtheARphosphorylationsitesinthatitdoesnotachieveamaximallevelofphosphorylationbetweentranslationandtheinitialroundofnuclearimport,havingastrongbiasforandrogen-independentphosphorylationinthecytoplasm.AndrogenReceptorpS94Antibodyisidealforresearchersinterestedincancerresearch.
