| Scientific Background: | RAD54 is a protein that cooperates with RAD51 to repair double strand DNA breaks by homologous recombination between sister chromatids. RAD51 forms filaments on single-stranded DNA that are capable of pairing the bound DNA with a homologous double-stranded donor. RAD54 interacts with RAD51 and stimulates the homologous pairing reaction. |
