Thedefinedantibodyspecificityisdirectedtoalbuminastestedagainstsheepsera.InimmunoelectrophoresisanddoublerADIalimmunodiffusion(Ouchterlony),usingvariousantiserumconcentrationsagainstappropriateconcentrationsoftheimmunogen,asinglecharacteristicprecipitinlineisobtainedwhichshowsareactionofidentitywiththeprecipitinlinesobtainedagainstsheepserumandthepurifiedalbumin.Asprecipitatingantiserumtoidentifyormeasuresheepalbuminbyavarietyofimmunodiffusiontechniques,includingimmunoelectrophoresis,singleanddoubleradialimmunodiffusion(Mancini,Ouchterlony)andelectroimmunodiffusion(Laurell).Ithasnotbeentestedforuseinnephelometry,ELISAorimmunochemistry,butthisdoesnotexcludesuchuseifpropercontrolsareincluded.
